Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in New York, is a not-for-profit organization founded by several young professionals stemming from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Academy’s mission is to support the empowerment process of a new generation of Bosnians and Herzegovinians, living in the United States and around the world, through the networking and coalescing of their creative energy and intellectual potential. The objective is to achieve substantive and lasting affirmative change in the lives of Bosnians and Herzegovinians.

Academy’s foundations are its members. The diversity of members’ experiences and knowledge facilitates cultural, educational, professional exchange, and other programs at the Academy that strengthen the collective status of member communities and provide for their equal and vibrant participation in all segments of society. Academy provides a fair and open environment, a platform, for creativity and intellectual vibrancy of its members.

In order to multiply effects of individual achievements the Academy coordinates Focus Groups. They generate an effective networking environment for strengthening the professional communities that make profound cultural and scientific contribution and secure political representation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian interests. Ultimately, the Academy strives to attain social consciousness that influences and creates rather then reacts to realities of Bosnians and Herzegovinians.

We are currently developing programs and partnerships in the fields of art and culture, civic diplomacy and professional exchanges. We are looking to build alliances and strategic partnerships with relevant institutions and all individuals committed to our mission.
