Leila Lucević

Co-Founder, President of the Board of Directors

For the past 15 years, Ms Lucević has been closely involved with the Bosnian-American community in New York and broader, as one of the founding members of the Academy of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival. She is an attorney representing clients in commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Lucević spent seven years working with various international non-profit organizations, managing programs and raising funds, including those in support of the International Criminal Court.

Amra Dumišić

Secretary

Ms. Dumisić has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2008 and holds the position of the organization’s Secretary. Currently, she is an Information and Program Officer at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and an active member of the DAAD’s research marketing team. She has participated and presented at various conferences and fairs on studying and researching in Germany. Prior to this position, she was a Lecturer of German Language and Literature at Fordham University in New York. She holds M.Phil. Degree in German Language and Literature.

Damir Pozderac

Co-Founder

Mr. Pozderac is a co-founder of the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a co-founder of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) and the Festival Director.  Mr. Pozderac is an architectural professional and a Design Manager working for a leading global architectural firm Gensler in New York City.  With 18 years of experience he has worked on local, national and international projects with broad range of scopes and complexities. He holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degrees from the University of Texas in Arlington.

Enes Dedović

Treasurer

Mr Dedović has been a member of Board of Directors of Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2008 and holds the position of the organization’s Treasurer. He has recently joined a large hedge fund, Alkeon Capital Management. For 18 years, he worked as an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, leading global financial services corporation. Mr Dedovic is passionate at building risk and portfolio management products that are valuable, usable, and feasible. He received his Master of Science degree in Fluid Mechanics and Applied Mathematics from Cornell University in 1997.

Almir Lucević

Vice-President of The Board of Directors

Mr. Lucević has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2006. He is a co-founder of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival and has since been actively involved in community-related projects sponsored by the organization and beyond. Mr. Lucević is the litigation managing clerk in a leading international corporate law firm based in New York City with focus on securities, antitrust/competition, employment, and complex commercial practice. Mr. Lucević holds a master's degree in political science/international affairs and a bachelor degree in German linguistics/literature and economy.

Shannon O'Toole

Voting Member

Ms. O'Toole has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2016.  She is also a Public Relations and Marketing Director of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival Program. Professionally, Ms O’Toole is an editor at Freedom House, a human rights watchdog, and she previously worked as an editor at Facts On File World News Digest, where she focused on the Balkans. Ms. O’Toole holds a master's degree in international relations from Central European University, in Budapest.
